Snow days

During the snow I had taken alot of photos. I thought the best way to scrap these photos was to create a mini-book. I picked the best of photos and did layouts with them. I made the album using my bind-it-all and I used scraps of dovecraft papers which I had left. To embellish the pages I used snowflakes which are a mixture of ones I die cut and peel-offs.

Im pleased with how this album has turned out.

Mini-book Challenge

Over on ukscrappers I am taking part in a mini-book challenge. The challenge is to do a page a month throughtout the year.

I have made my book and done the front cover. I used papers from papermania. I am going to use the same paper pad throughtout the whole of the album. I have given a double page to each month and on the right hand page I have printed out a monthly calander where I am going to record what I have been doing.

For this mini-book I am going to use 1 photo per month to highlight the main event for that month. I will get my January page done once my photos come back from being printed.

Scrap Weekly challenge 5

For the scrap weekly challenge 5 on ukscrappers the challenge was to use a trio of papers and put them together to form a background. I used 3 papers from basic grey to form my background. I then used photos of my first rabbit. I tend to always use flowers as embellishments on my layouts so for this I used buttons. Im really pleased with the end result.

52-in-10 week 5

This weeks challenge for the 52-in-10 challenge on ukscrappers was to do a layout about Family. As I have quite a disfunctional family I decided to do a dlo. For this challenge I decided to use tags for each family group. On the tags I wrote the name of the person, date of birth and relationship to me. I didn't use photos as I would never have managed it!! Im really enjoying this challenge.

Cards

On Monday I got around to making another couple of cards. The first card was made using a jewel butterfly kit that I've had for months. Im really pleased with the card. I'm going to give this card to oh's sister for her birthday.

The second card I made using an embossed screen which I had. All I did to this card was to chalk it up. I need to add a happy birthday to it as Im going to give this one to my dads wife for her birthday.

January week 4

Last onmy to do list today was to do my layout for the January week 4 challenge on UKscrappers. This weeks challenge was to use a photo of something other than a person, use journalling, use a sketch, use ribbon and use bling. On my layout I managed to fill all of the criteria apart from the ribbon. I chose to use some photos of scrarecrows that we went to see. I used a sketch from pagemaps Jan 10. Im pleased with how this has turned out.

Scrapweekly challenge 4

Next on my agenda today was to do my layout for the scrapweekly challenge 4 on UKscrappers. The challenge was to scrap with tags in a way that we don't usually do. I decided to use some photos of my rabbits and use tags as a mat for the photos. Ive never done this before and I liked the final result.

52-in-10 week 4

Today I have been catching up with this weeks challenges on UKscrappers. I started off with week 4 in the 52-in-10 challenge as I knew exactly what i wanted to do for this. This weeks challenge was 'Music that rocks my world' So for this challenge I decided to do a layout about when I went to see we will rock you. I chose to do a double layout for this as I had quite alot of pics that I wanted to use. Im really enjoying doing the 52-in-10 challenge.

Monday 25 January 2010

Well yesterday I eventually got round to making some cards which Ive been meaning to do for ages. I used some free Popcorn bear chipboard tags I had and also a free paws fur a moment papers I had. Im quite pleased with how they have turned out. I feel that I am now eventually getting back into cardmaking and scrapbooking at long last!!

Saturday 23 January 2010

I have eventually finished the last of this weeks challenges on UKScrappers. This layout is for Scrapweekly challenge 3. For this challenge we had to create a layout using bad photos in a creative way. Also to add a title on the photos. For this layout I used 2 photos taken in the summer of my nephew at the Alnwick Gardens. The light in these photos were all wrong and I would never have normally used them.

I am looking forward to the new challenges going up on UKScrappers tomorrow.

Thursday 21 January 2010

I seem to be on a roll at the moment. I have created another layout for one of the challenges on UKScrappers. Im so pleased that I am keeping up with these challenges. This layout is for the January week 3 Challenge. The challenge was titled 'A piece of history'. The prompt for this challenge was to create a layout with an old photo and tell the story of the memory. For this layout I used 2 photos from my time in sixth form at school. The title for this layout is 'School Days' The journalling reads, 'Up untill sixth form I never really enjoyed school. Whilst doing my Advanced GNVQ in Health and Social care I made some good friends. We had a really enjoyable time and the 2 years just flew by. Our classroom was room 12 at Balifgate Duchess's High school Alnwick, it became like a second home.

Wednesday 20 January 2010

I have eventually managed to get round to do some scrapbooking today after what you could say has been a bit of a strange day!

I decided to do one of this weeks challenges off the UKscrappers forum. I have decided to participate in a few of the challenges as I feel that it will give me the must needed push to get some scrapbooking done.

Today I did my layout out for the challenge 52-in-10. This weeks prompt was 'If I knew then'. For this layout we had to do a layout about what advice we would give our younger self and to use a quotation. I decided to do a layout titled 'stick in'. My journalling is underneath the photo of me which was taken on the last day of sixth form.

My journalling reads:

The advice that I would give to my younger self is to stick in more at school. If during years 10 and 11 at the high school I had gone to school everyday the chances are I would have done better in my GCSE's. This would have meant I wouldn't have had to stay at school till I was 19. This photo was taken in June 1999, by this time I had started to go to school and I achieved a distinction in my advanced GNVQ in Health and Social care.

Tuesday 19 January 2010

I have eventually got round to creating a blog!! hopefully I will be updating it regularly. I had intended to do it from the beginning of the year but didn't get round to it, nothing new there!!
